‘Food’ and ‘health’ are two interrelated topics high on the global political agenda. Their interaction within human society is subject to numerous influences: from obesity to eating disorders; from health care costs to technological innovation; from fear to fashion. The ‘Dialogue on Health, Food and Society’ aims to take a holistic view on the relationship between these three factors, rather than treating them as separate themes. The event will be opened by Peter Forstmoser, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Swiss Re, and will take an interdisciplinary approach, seeking to analyse the interdependences between food, health and society and how they can best interact with each other. It is hoped that the conference will provide a launch-pad, the results of which can be further used to continue the dialogue on food, health and society in other forums.
